Five recommended shopping spots in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur was voted as the 4th best shopping city in 2016 and according to CNN today it ranks among the top ten best shopping destinations in the world with over 10 million visitors per year and a number of huge shopping malls. Most of the recommended shopping spots are found in Bukit Bintang and they  are within walking distances.

Here’s my five best shopping places in Kuala Lumpur:

  • Sungei Wang

Sungei Wang is my second favourite shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur boasting more than 800 stores and a couple of eating spots. It is a good place for some bargain shopping and if you are looking for vintage clothing.  One of my most loved stores is QQ outlet.
Also if you need a haircut, head to Wes Salon on the first floor opposite Daiso. Their prices are really good and the service is amazing! I went there for a cut and wash, they massaged my head for a long time before the wash which was awesome and relaxing.

  • Pavilion Mall

Pavilion Mall is one of the most luxurious malls of Kuala Lumpur and is home to the high-end brands such as Gucci, Burberry and Prada to name a few. The mall also has a big food court where you can enjoy cheap food. There is no way you could miss the beautiful crystal fountain and the impressive and posh Sephora just in front of the mall.

  • Kenanga Wholesale City (KWC)

KWC is Malaysia’s first wholesale mall situated in Bukit Bintang selling mostly clothes and accessories. Many of the shops sell in bulk at discounted prices. I got five handbags for 100 MYR which is a fantastic deal. It is great for those who are into retail businesses. They also have a section dedicated to Muslim wear.

  • Low Yat Plaza

For tech lovers, Low Yat Plaza is Kuala Lumpur’s largest IT mall. Some of the shops provide GST refund. However beware of scams. Low Yat specialises in mobile phones, laptops, cameras and other gadgets.

  • Berjaya Times Square

One day is not enough for my favourite and bustling Berjaya Times Square mall. With over 1000 stores, food courts and an indoor amusement park, Berjaya is the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia. Watch out for sales. It is the best place to head for some shopping therapy. Plus if you are fond of desserts or even if you are not a sweet person like me, I’d still recommend you to grab a cake and coffee at Secret Recipe, their white chocolate Macadamia cake is to die for!
